Katsina state government would tackles flood

Katsina state Government pledged to continue collaborating with relevant agencies towards addressing the issue flood in the state.
The Deputy Governor Alh Mannir Yakubu said this while inspecting areas affected by flood in Katsina metropolis as a result of heavy down Pour within the week.

Alh Mannir Yakubu urged people to avoid dumping refuse in water ways and drainages for their safety.

The areas visited include tudun matawalle, Gafai and Masanawa among some other places within the metropolis.

He said present state administration have been conserted efforts to mitegate the effect of environmental challenges across the three senatorial zones.

The General Manager Katsina Urban and Regional planning Agencies Alh Usman Nadada who led the Deputy Governor to the affected areas said already emergency measures have been put in place to avoid further occurance.

Alh Usman Nadada called on people to avoid dumping sand and gravels on the streets and drainages.

Others accompanied the Deputy Governor during the inspection visit include the Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency Alh Babangida Nasamu, Director Ecological, Ministry of Environment Alh Abubakar Gege and Katsina state New Map Project Coordinator Engr Ashiru Muhammad among other community leaders in the affected areas.
