Katsina state Government will commence Mass vaccination against yellow fever this Wednesday 25th September in Danmusa and kankara local government area.
The Deputy Governor Mannir yakubu said this at the fifty nineth task force meeting on Non polio supplementary immunization activities held at the Deputy Governor chamber katsina.
Mannir yakubu revealed that this followed confirmed possible out break of yellow fever a life threatening disease in the state .
Yakubu said vaccination against yellow fever is targetted for children and Adults from Nine month to fourty four years.
It is expected to cover over seven million people In the state , also vaccination for other disease Will follow accordingly.
The Deputy Governor further said campaign on maternal and Neonatal tetanus elimanation is scheduled for October this year for pregnant women between the ages of fifteen to fourty nine years in fourteen high risk local government Areas.
He added in November 2018 there will be Mass campaign against Measles for children of 9month to 59month and menangitis campaign begins around November to December 2019 for children between the ages of 1 to 7 years of age..
Alh Mannir yakubu explained that the state government is providing all needed funds and logistics for the vaccination.
He directed local government caretaker committee chairman to provide overnight during the vaccination campaign.
The Deputy Governor applauded the effort of traditional rulers towards engaging their communities to guide against vaccine refusal.
Those in attendance include permanent secretary min of health, information,and that of deputy Governor office.
The rest are executive chairman local government service commission, executive chairman primary haelth care development agency representative of katsina and Daura Emirates among others.
