Masari Inagurated New Governing Council Of Katsina Higher Institutions

Governor Aminu Bello Masari has inaugurated the reconstituted Chairmen and members of the councils of the four tertiary education institutions of higher learning in katsina state.
They include that of Hassan Usman Katsina polytechnic, which was an institution establish ed in 1983 and the council is the fourteenth inaugurated so far for the polytechnic.
The institution is headed by the Rector, Dr Mudi Kurfi while the chairman of the council is Engineer Ahmad Abubakar Lugga.
Other members of the polytechnic council are professor Mani Ahmed, Mallam Musbahu Na’iya, the Mallamawan katsina and District Head of Batagarawa, Alhaji Dikko Dalhatu, the representative of the NBTE, the representative of the Academic Board , the representative of the congregation as well as the permanent secretary in the Higher Education Department.
For Isa Kaita college of Education, Dutsinma, which was established in 1991 has the tenth council inaugurated at the ceremony.
The institution is headed by the fifth provost,Dr Maigari Abdu while the chairman of the council is Dr Abubakar Siddique from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Members of the council include Retired Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga, Dr Nuruddeen Lawal, Hajiya Mulikat Lamido Dodo, the Yandakan katsina and District Head of Dutsinma, Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada and the representative of the Academic Board.
On the other hand, Dr Yusuf Bala Usman College, Daura, which was established in 2004 is being headed by the provost, Professor Sa’adiyya Sani Daura.
The chairman of the council is Mallam Muhammad Rabi’u Yahaya while members include a seasoned Polytechnic administrator, Alhaji Yahaya Lawal Rafin Dadi, Dr Almu Abubakar Bindawa, Mallam Rabe Musa Maiaduwa and Hajiya Lubabatu Jibril.
The only premier institution, Umar Musa Yar’adua University, katsina, which was established in 2006 is being headed by the Vice chancellor, Professor Idris Isa Funtua.
The chairman of the council of UMYU is Ambassador Zakari Ibrahim, the Talban katsina while members are Dr Salisu Lawal Malumfashi, Dr Salisu Ingawa, Dr Yusha’u Armaya’u, the representative of the Higher Education Department, representative of the senate of the University, representative of the congregation, the Vice chancellor, the Deputy Vice chancellor for Administration and the Deputy Vice chancellor for Academic as well as the permanent secretary in the state ministry of finance .
All Registrars of the four tertiary educational institutions are the secretaries of the councils.
Speaking shortly before inaugurating the councils, Governor Aminu Bello Masari reminded them that they stand a chance to reap rewards in two folds.
He said the services rendered to the instructions would enable them to contribute towards revamping the dwindling fortunes of the education sub sector in the state, which would be rewarded in this world and the hereafter.
He spoke at length on the importance of education to the overall well being of humanity.
