KATSINA STATE SPONSORED DOCTORS FOR TRAINING

Katsina state government is to spend over twelve million Naira in sponsoring seven medical Doctors to undergo residency training for the duration of six years .
The Head of civil Service Alhaji Usman Idris Tune disclose this on the outcome of the Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Aminu Bello Masari at government house chambers, katsina.
Alhaji Usman Tune explained that the residency training was part government restoration Agenda in uplifting the health status of the citizenry.
He explained that three memorandum were presented by the office of the head of the civil service on trainings , which were approved by the Executive Council.
He said the residency training was as a result of the request made by the health services management Board to allow the Doctors to specialize and become consultants.
Alhaji Usman Tune explained that Doctors would continue to draw their salaries during the six years during the residency training.
The Head of Service announced that another memorandum that also centred on local training of civil servants was approved by the meeting
Alhaji Usman Tune said five staff for the workforce have been approved to persue further trainings to enhance their level of productivity.
He said the recommendation on the five staff was guided by a subsisting circular on training who are permanent and pensionable officers , adding that the state executive council had approved for them to persue courses in Higher Educational institutions across Nigeria.
The Head of Service explained that the state government circular said any worker sponsored on in service would continue to enjoy his salary.
The third memorandum,he said involves a level nine officer that the meeting approved for him to persue a course on pathology and audiology in India in the sum of six and half million Naira.
The course, according to the Head of Service is not being offered in the country, adding that the officer would return and transmit some of the knowledge acquired to his colleagues.
The state commissioner of health, Engineer Nuhu Yakubu and special Adviser on Higher Education Alhaji Bashir Usman Ruwan Godiya accompanied the head of the civil service during the Press conference.
