Governor Aminu Bello Masari has flag off the disbursement of Aliko Dangote Foundation micro grant empowerment to 34,000 women across katsina state.
The flag off, which was held at Batagarawa primary school playing ground was attended by the state Deputy Governor, Quantity Surveyor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu and the secretary to the government of katsina state,Dr Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa as well as some members of the state executive council and members of the political and business class among others.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Aminu Masari explained that the ten thousand Naira to be given to each of the 34,000 women would help to improve their living condition.

Alhaji Aminu Masari reminded people that the gesture would compliment the effort his administration in the disbursement of empowerment packages done through the various Programmes in the state.
The Governor expressed gratitude and appreciation to Dangote Foundation for the gesture to the vulnerable in the state.
In an address, the chairman of the Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Aliko Dangote revealed that the Foundation would spend ten billion Naira in the disbursement of the micro grant to one thousand women in each of the 774 local governments across Nigeria.

This he said was in addition to the provision of 300 million Naira for the support to less privilege in some North Western States during the holy month of Ramadan to help people to fast with relative ease.
The chairman of the local organizing committee for the disbursement, Hajiya Rayyana Lawal who is also the permanent secretary in the ministry of Lands and Survey spoke at length on the painstaking job done to select beneficiaries of the micro grant.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the grant to 20 women by the Governor and other dignitaries.
