Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, says Monday’s Supreme Court’s Judgment on the Sokoto State Gubernatorial Appeal was very shocking and unexpected.
Senator Gobir( APC-Sokoto), addressed newsmen in Sokoto, Wednesday, on behalf of the party , shortly after a Mammoth Crowd organized Mega Rally in honour of the Leader of the APC in the state and North West, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, its Gubernatorial Candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and the party .
Senator Gobir said, ” it is very shocking and it is something we never unexpected. We never anticipated it .
” We thought that , to the Judges would do Justice to us and we never got it . We have however accepted the verdict in good faith as Muslims .”
Senator Gobir furrher corroborated that more than seventy per cent of the people of the state belong to the APC.
He averred ,” the people of the state massively voted the APC . The Mammoth crowd of our supporters had shown this .
” There is no doubt that, Sokoto is APC and nobody can still that PDP won the election.”
Senator Gobir also called for more courage and patience, to bear the irreparable loss, even as he called on the members of the party to troop to the polling stations and vote APC Candidates during Saturday’s bye elections in the state.
Also speaking, a Member of the House of Representatives, representing Gada and Goronyo Federal Constituency on the platform of the APC, Hon. Musa
S. Adar said,” what has happened, has happened.
” We will fill the gap by our power of legislation at the National Assembly, we will try to reduce the vacuum. “
Also speaking, Architect Aliyu Ibrahim Almustapha Rabah, said, ” Sokoto is APC and we are religiously committed and resolute .
” On Saturday’s bye elections in parts of the he state, we should come out en masse and vote all APC Candidates,to ensure that they emerge victorious .
” We are also ready to face the challenges squarely to protect our votes during the forthcoming bye elections.”
