The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has called for more understanding from its numerous customers in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States on the need to partner with KEDCO as a team to improve steady power supply in the area.
Gwamna maintained that steady power supply needs teamwork and partnership from all its customers through regular payment of electricity bills. He said that the best way to do anything in contemporary setting to improve on the success on ground is partnership, adding that since KEDCO is concerned with the improvement of power supply and customers satisfaction, the company needs all the supports it could get from the customers to maximise the already visible gains in the power sector in the zone.
“Power sector as far as we are concerned is key to the improvement of other sectors for the good of everyone and in KEDCO; we have deliberately made our customers’ satisfactions our target because they are the ones keeping us in business. This is why we are calling on them to play their roles well in ensuring that they pay as and when due.
“If bills are paid regularly, it gives us the needed capacity and the morale to continue to improve as we have always done.
“In 2020, we have big plans for our customers as they have been witnessing already and the only thing we need from our customers as a major stakeholder in the distribution chain as far as Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States are concerned is to pay their bills and help protect our installations.
“We on the other hand as a team will continue to revolutionize our strategies towards the improvement of power supply through equitable and fair distribution. One of our targets this year is to operate a teamwork-kind of relations with our numerous customers and we are on it.’’
The Kano DisCo Boss also appealed to customers to help protect KEDCO facilities and installations, adding “since we are a team, we must watch each other’s back; so we count on our customers for more supports in that regard too.’’
