Kaduna killings: El-Rufa’i visits Igabi, Giwa villages


…says no negotiation with bandits

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i, has visited the villages of Igabi and Giwa local government areas attacked by armed bandits at the weekend.

The Nation had reported that, the bandits stormed the village in the early hours of Sunday, killing over 50 villagers, including children, women and the aged.

Meanwhile, Governor El-Rufa’i while addressing the bereaved villagers, assured them that, their attackers would be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

He however said that, Kaduna State Governorment under his leadership is not and will never negotiate with killer armed bandits.

The Governor commended the security operatives for their gallantry efforts, as he said that, if not for the intervention of security personnel on land and in the air, the situation would have been worse.

Governor El-Rufa’i instead advocated prompt elimination of the bandits when they are identified.

The locals say the bandits came on Sunday morning heavily armed and left over 50 people killed.

The Governor accompanied by top government functionaries visited Kerawa, Ungwan Musa and Zariyawa among others.
