COVID-19: Niger govt. begs for donations

Niger state government is currently asking the people in the state, philanthropists and corporate organizations to donate to the state in order to help in the prevention of the coronavirus.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government and the Chairman of the state Task Force on COVID-19, Ahmed Matane, he said that the donations would further help in the containment of the pandemic.

He stated that the donations would go into the Niger State COVID-19 Intervention Appeal Fund.

According to Matane, the donations will also assist the Government to fund medical centers, provide manpower and necessary materials essential to arrest the spread of the Coronavirus disease in the State.

He stressed the need for people to step in to compliment why the government is doing in the containment of the epidemic saying, “as Nigerlites, we must rise and unite together to fight this common enemy as we see a rapid increase of COVID-19 in other places.”
