The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says it has concluded plans to ensure sustained power supply to all customers in Kano and other states within its franchise areas during the period of the lockdown.
The Management states that since the restriction order commenced in some parts of the country, KEDCO had begun series of technical and operational realignments to ensure improvement in power supply to all its numerous customers.
“It is our job to give satisfaction to our customers. We have been doing it but in view of the lockdown order, we have done some critical adjustments in our mode of operation to ensure the sustenance of the improvement in power supply that our customers are now witnessing.
“We have also made arrangements with regard to payment as our cash offices are open in case there is need to buy token or even reporting issues or technical faults noticed. So our online platforms are very much available to make payment for electricity bills.
“We also have our customer care vehicles that will be strategically located in different locations where they could be of urgent help to any of our customers under strict adherence to the social distancing directives. This can also to leveraged to buy token or report issues as the members of this unit are connected to our situation room who are stationed for any emergency whatsoever.’’
While assuring the customers of improved and sustained power supply, Management said: “we are also urging customers to continue to pay their bills and not buy in on the rumour of free electricity supply.
The Management added that such arrangement by government for a free electricity supply for two months had not been activated, hence every customer must continue to pay their bills and jettison the rumour, stressing “when it finally materializes, we will tell you all but for now let’s continue to pay so we can pay our essential service staff as well as motivate them to continue the good work.’’
