The management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) says in spite of the tremendous improvement in supply, the company has witnessed low collection which is not good for KEDCO as there are huge debts yet to be paid by its numerous customers.
We like to reiterate that the only way to maintain the current improvement in power supply to all states in our franchise area is for customers to pay their electricity bills.
We have resolved to continue to improve supply from the 18 hours further but the huge outstanding bills that customers are yet to pay is posing some serious economic restriction to our capacity to sustain the tempo.
We, therefore, appeal to all our customers to assist KEDCO in its task to sustain the improvement of power supply across board as this can only be possible if they pay their current and outstanding bills.
This will also enable KEDCO to meet up with its financial obligations to other stakeholders in the overall interest of the development of the power sector industry in the country.
