Gunmen attack Nasarawa governor’s hometown

• Two killed, one abducted

Some gunmen have stormed Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule’s hometown, Gudi, in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state, killing two persons and abducting one woman.

One of the persons killed, Salisu Usman, was said to be a nephew of a former minister of Information, Labaran Maku.

The other person shot dead was a 400-level student of Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto.

The gunmen abducted Usman’s wife, The Nation learnt, on Wednesday.

The incident happened on Tuesday near the governor’s farm where some policemen were reportedly stationed, but they could not prevent the attack.

Comptroller of Immigration in the state, Zainab Lawal, confirmed the incident, while police spokesman ASP Ramhan Nansel did not answer calls placed to his phone.
