Governor Aminu Bello Masari has approved for the state transport authority- KTSTA to operate vehicles on behalf of private owners in the state.
To this end, the Governor this Monday launched two buses for the authority to be run for commercial purposes on behalf of Katsina state correspondents chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists-NUJ.
Governor Aminu Masari directed that vehicles belonging to private owners to be run for commercial purposes must have KATSINA LINE boldly written on them to indicate their mode.
Alhaji Aminu Masari expressed hope that the two buses in six months to come will multiply in number for the chapel to become bouyant.
In a remarks, the General Manager of the Authority, Alhaji Haruna Musa Rugoji explained that the buses would not only generate income for the correspondents chapel but increase the revenue base of the authority as token amount will be collected for the services to be rendered in running the commercial buses
Alhaji Haruna Rugoji expressed the hope that more private owners would take advantage of the situation to register their fleet of buses for running on commercial purposes.
The chairman of the chapel, Alhaji Abdulhamid Sabo expressed gratitude to Governor Aminu Bello Masari for the support being rendered to journalists in the state.
He assured that the members of the chapel would reciprocate the gesture through projecting the good image of the state.
Highlight of the occasion was the inspection of the two buses by the Governor .
