The Senator representing Katisna North Senatorial District, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, has mourned the ex-Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, describing him as a “thorough-bred gentleman who contributed immensely to national development through the Nigeria Customs Service”. The ex-Customs boss, who died last night in Abuja after a protracted illness, at the age of 61, would be sorely missed according to Senator Kaita.
In a statement released by the Distinguished Senator’s office, while condoling with the people of Musawa town in particular and Katsina state in general, the chairman Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Senator Kaita, “fondly remembered ex-CG Dikko for his aggressive reforms of the Customs Service especially his 6-point agenda of maximizing the potentials of the service through capacity building; moral rebirth for discipline and integrity in the service; enhanced welfare package; consolidation of the e-Customs platforms; collaboration and partnership with stakeholders and international organizations; and fostering of mutual understanding between the service and the general public”.
In praying for Aljanat Fir’daus for an illustrious son of Katsina state, Senator Kaita also wished the immediate family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss of their patriarch.
