Bandits have killed two persons and injured six others during an attack on Mazari, a community close to Buruku in Chikun LGA in Kaduna.
One of the deceased was identified as Mariya Sale while among those injured were: Ladidi Abdullahi, Zubaida Balarabe and Hauwa’u Ayuba.
Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
He said: “In another reported incident, armed bandits attacked Doka village, Kajuru LGA. One Bitrus Luka was shot dead, and three others were injured. The injured are: Kings Andy, Danladi Audu and Titus Friday.”
He also reported some bandits were neutralised in Brinin Gwari Local Government area by Operation Thunder Strike (OPTS) component of the Nigerian Air Force.
Aruwan said the military operation against the bandits in Birnin Gwari was carried out in response to credible intelligence that bandits were congregating in some locations to carry out attacks in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
He revealed the mission was conducted around the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road where the bandits were engaged and neutralized.
A similar operation was also carried out over Kaduna-Abuja road, including surrounding settlements and villages, he said.
