Katsina State Police Command has achieved yet another feat as it arrested some kidnappers, cattle rustlers and some notorious bandits.
ASP Gambo Isah the command public relations officer disclosed this during a press briefing held at the command headquarters yesterday Thursday.
According to SP Isah, the command succeeded in arresting a renowned bandit identified as Bala Abdu Alias ‘ Medele’ aged 40, and one Halliru Tukur aged 24 both from Dunkula Village of Safana Local Government.
According to the press statement signed by ASP Gambo and made available to newsmen, the duo were arrested in Runka Market while trying to sell a stolen Ran where they confessed of committing several crimes which include banditry and cattle rustling in Safana and its environs.
ASP Isah further said, following intelligence report and a tip off, Safana divisional police have also arrested the duo of Mani Yahaiya aged 38, Isuhu Usman aged 35 both from Tsaskiya Village of Safana Local Government.
ASP Gambo explained that ” they were arrested after being suspected of abetting two bandits camps of one Ya’u and Mallam Aibo hibernating in Rugu forest with secret information, where they ever committed terror act in Tsaskiya and Ummadau villages in Safana Local Government.
Meanwhile, the state Police command arrested one Aminu Abdulrazak aged 30 of Tudun Yan’lihidda carrying 66 jerricans in an unregistered Peugeot 504′ at Kofar Guga garage whom has been supplying fuel to bandits hibernating in the forest.
Upon his arrest, Abdulrazak said he bought the fuel from one Saminu Rabi’ u a transport manager of AK Mai Kwai filling station.
The command said the suspects have since confessed to have committed the criminal offences.
