Sequel to the earlier announcement by the Buhari administration of its intention to set up the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Scheme (TIES) whereby qualified graduates or undergraduates with entrepreneurial skills will be given cash loans to develop their businesses, do you know that the administration has commenced the distribution of these loans?
The scheme effectively took off on Thursday, November 25, 2021 with the Central Bank of Nigeria launching it with the issuance of loans, ranging from N4.1m to N5m, to some undergraduates and graduates who applied and successfully fulfilled all the required criteria.
This great scheme, which was designed in partnership with academic leaders of our universities and polytechnics, is expected to harness the the potentials of graduate entrepreneurs by creating a paradigm shift from the pursuit of white-collar jobs to a culture of entrepreneurship for the specific purpose of job creation and economic development.
