With its eyes on enhancing the country’s ports operations so that businesses can be easily done without undue delays and bottlenecks, do you know that the Buhari administration has just recently furnished the Onne Seaport in Rivers State with 6 brand new Rubber-Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGC) in order to enhance the port’s cargo lifting operations?

Fortunately for Nigeria, the Onne Seaport is also the West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) where large shipments of cargo are cleared for onward distribution to markets in the West African subregion, and it is reported that these 6 new heavy-duty cranes will simply consolidate its position as the best-equipped port terminal in the subcontinent.

Basically, the enhancement of the operational capacity of this Seaport simply means an expansion of the revenue profile of the country owing to the increased volume of goods that will be lifted and cleared each day by the Customs Service, which therefore makes it a worthy investment by the Buhari administration.
