The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) in collaboration with the Kano State Ministry of Health and Kanawa Pharmaceutical Partners LTD has organised a two days seminar for Kano State drugs vendors.
The seminar workshop was conducted yesterday at NITEL hole in Kano State.

One of the member of Dangwauro pharmaceutical products market committee, Dahiru Abdullahi Matazu, disclosed that the Federal Government invited some professionals to train them on how to handle the proposed pharmaceutical drugs market in Dangauro, Kano State.

He said: “The Federal Government has invited some technocrats to train us and give us the hints on how this pharmaceutical products market will work. The genesis behind this is to control the trafficking of fake and bad drugs in the state so that people will only get access to high quality and safe drugs.”
“As for now, 679 shops have been constructed in the market and each one has an area of 36 square kilometres; therefore, if you divide it into six equal parts, one part can be equals to one shop in Janbulo,” said Matazu.

He added that the Kano State Government will soon commission the Dangwauro market so that they will all pack out from Sabongari Market and relocate to the new special market.

In his remark, the Managing Director of Jaiz Bank, Alhaji Hassana Usman, stated that Jaiz Bank has ventured into pharmaceutical business because of the new plans executed by the Federal Government in Dangauro Market.
As a result of that, he did mention that “Jaiz Bank is ever ready give loans to this association or give them shops in this market, in a way that the debtors will be paying back the money gradually in parts or as a whole.”

The seminar received the presence of many experts and facilitators from the Federal Government and leaders and members of drugs vendors in Kano State.
