NEMA DISTRIBUTED RELIEF ITEMS TO THE PEOPLE AFFECTED BY BANDITRY IN NIGER STATE

Earlier on Thursday, 24th February, 2022, the Director General National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mustapha Habib Ahmed has flagged-off distribution of relief items approved for persons affected by banditry and displaced from their communities in Kontagora, Magama, Mashegu, Mariga and Wushishi Local Government Areas of Niger State.

Flagging off the distribution in Kontagora today, the DG NEMA said the items were approved by President Muhammadu Buhari to provide succour to the displaced persons that are presently living in various temporary shelters. He also conveyed to the IDPs, concerns and sympathy of the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq.

Earlier on arrival in Kontagora, the DG who was joined by the Member of House of Representatives from the area Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Garba and accompanied by the Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Alhaji Alhassan Nuhu, SADG Mr Idris Abubakar Mohammed and DD Ops Mr Idris Bashir Garga, paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Kontagora Alhaji Muhammad Barau. At the Palace, he also conveyed the concerns of the Agency and informed the Emir of the relief items that had been delivered for the IDPs.
