The federal government has completed the construction of a 1. 8km access road within the Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi.
So far, the federal government has built internal road networks for 46 tertiary institutions, of which 29 have been handed over as of 2021, Ahmed Abdulkadir Yabo, the Acting Federal Controller of Works for Kebbi, said on Monday in Kebbi,
He represented the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, at the unveiling of the road in Birnin Kebbi.
He stated that the gap in infrastructure in tertiary institutions was being steadily bridged through gradual repairs, renewal, and construction.
The Rector, Dr Usman Tunga, praised the federal government for the project and requested that the remaining 2.2 kilometres be built.
The lead consultant for the project, the zonal coordinator for the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), expressed satisfaction with the work, saying it was constructed according to standard.
