The All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Katsina State chapter has issued a warning to a group of persons claiming to be the new leadership of the association.
A statement signed by the association’s chairman, Alhaji Ya’u Umar Gwajo-Gwajo notes that he still remains the state chairman of AFAN, as his EXCO was sworn-in in November 2020 for a five-year term that will expire in 2025.
The statement warns that AFAN will take legal action against any group or individual that parades himself as the leadership of the association in contravention of the association’s constitution.
The statement which was copied to the national body of AFAN, the State Ministry of Agriculture, the Katsina State Police Commissioner and Director of DSS, urges farmers and members of the public to avoid dealing with impostors in the name of AFAN.
Meanwhile, the current AFAN Chairman is also the Katsina State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
