YBU INSTITUTE TO LUNCH ON ‘FACE OF POVERTY IN NIGERIA’

The Yusufu Bala Usman Institute has published a book titled ‘The Face of Poverty in Nigeria’, which highlights the causes effects and adverse consequences of poverty in the country.

The book which consists of articles and essays on various issues on the subject, was jointly written by seven seasoned academics most of whom were once tutored by Dr. Yusuf Bala Usman.

They are Abdullahi Umar Enaggi, Mike Kwanashie, Attahiru Bala Usman, Adam Higazi, Abdullahi Mohammed, Noma Perchonok and Sanusi Umar Mohammed.

The book which was dedicated to Dr. Yusufu Bala Usman and Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung discussed the root causes and risk factors of unemployment and its effects on national productivity as well as the effect of state policy on the economy.

Other issues discussed in the book include poor access to education and healthcare, insecurity, poor infrastructure and widespread rural poverty in Nigeria.

Also featured in the book were corruption, gender discrimination and ecological issues that include climate change and desertification and their bearing on insecurity and poverty in the country.

Meanwhile, the book also contains analytical essays on population dynamics which include migration, fertility and population growth, food security, inflation and the future of democracy in Nigeria.
The book would be lunch on 21/9/2022 by 11am Nigeria time.It would be monitored globally through web and internet..
The speaker’s at the lunching are professor Mike kwanashie, Dr Hauwa Mahdi,Dr Husaini Abdu,Mr owie lekenfo and Dr konig.
