In continuation of its radical overhauling of Nigeria’s long-broken electricity infrastructure, do you know that the Buhari administration is now set to commission 5 new mega power stations in Abuja in December 2022?
Started in 2019, the new stations comprise of the 132/33KV Gwarinpa GIS with 60MVA super-transformers, the 132KV Wumba – Lokogoma Station with two 60MVA super-transformers, the 330KV Apo-Pigba Station, the 132KV Kuje Station with 3 units of 60MVA super-transformers.
The other one is the 132KV Lugbe West Station with 2 units of 150MVA super-transformers. At various stages of completion, all the new mega stations are expected to add about 820 Megawatts of electricity to the entire FCT after commissioning, which will help to guarantee steady power supply.
Yes, Nigeria is on track!
